Three young men were killed and two others were seriously injured this past Friday morning in a tragic one-car accident on Route 3 in North Bergen, New Jersey.
New Jersey police report that speed was definitely a factor in the fatal car accident. A 2008 Dodge Charger barreled into a concrete pillar and rolled over numerous times at 4 a.m. on Friday August 9th, coming to rest just before the Interstate 495 intersection leading into the Lincoln Tunnel. The driver was the only one wearing a seatbelt at the time of the auto crash. All four of his passengers were ejected from the car.
The driver was killed in the car accident. The man seated behind the driver in the car was also killed. North Bergen police have reported that they found his body on top of a small tree not far from the accident site. 23 year-old Joshua Mayorga of Union City was sitting in the front passenger side of the car and was also killed in the horrific motor vehicle crash.
23 year-old Michael Martinez of Weehawken and 18 year-old Roman Rosario of Jersey City survived the crash. Martinez, who was sitting behind the front seat passenger, was listed in stable condition at the Jersey City Medical Center. Rosario was sitting in the middle of the backseat and is reportedly in critical condition at the Jersey City Medical Center.
North Bergen police are continuing to investigate the tragic car accident.
