Investigation Reveals Details of Fatal Crash That Killed Actor Paul Walker.

A coroner’s report released on Friday, January 3, 2014 has provided additional details about the tragic car accident that took the lives of 40 year-old actor Paul Walker, and 38 year-old professional driver Roger Rodas.

According to the coroner from Santa Clarita, California, the November 30, 2013 auto crash caused Walker and Rodas to sustain severe personal injuries within a short span of time. According to the local Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol, Rodas, who was driving the motor vehicle, lost control of the car as it approached a downed light post in a one-mile loop office park located 30 miles northwest of Los Angeles. After the car struck a tree and the downed light post on the driver’s side, it spun out and struck another tree on the passenger’s side. The motor vehicle then caught on fire.

According to the coroner, Walker and Rodas sustained broken and fractured bones. Rodas’s skull had multiple fractures, while Walker suffered a broken jaw, arms, ribs and a shattered pelvis. Both men also suffered burn injuries over 100% of their bodies in the fiery auto crash. The cause of death in the accident report is listed as a combination of multiple traumatic injuries and thermal injuries.

At the time of the wrongful death auto accident, Rodas was driving a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT. This car frightens even seasoned professional drivers, as one driver commented on the incredible difficulty at handling this vehicle at high speeds. Porsche and the California Highway Patrol are jointly investigating the data recorders contained in the destroyed car to ascertain the exact speed at which Rodas was driving the car before the accident.

Rodas was a professional driver who competed in 10 Pirelli World Challenge GTS races in 2013. Paul Walker was on break in the middle of shooting Fast and Furious 7, the latest installment in a popular movie series about underground race-car drivers. Walker’s role in the upcoming film has not been definitely described by Universal Pictures.
