A former Indianapolis, IN police officer has been sentenced to thirteen years in prison for causing a fatal car accident while driving drunk and on-duty back in August of 2010.

David Bisard was an Indianapolis police officer. In August of 2010 he was caught drunk while driving a police cruiser. On duty at the time, Bissard rammed his cruiser into a group of motorcyclists. The incident killed one man and seriously injured two more. Two and a half years later, the man will finally be put behind bars. Bissard and his lawyer are also working on a plea agreement in relation to a separate drunk driving arrest that occurred this past April.
