Police in Lisbon, Maine continue to investigate the circumstances that caused a car to drive off of Ridge Road in Lisbon and then roll over multiple times this past Monday morning.
The single-car accident occurred at around 7:15 a.m.on Route 9, according to Lisbon police Officer Ryan McGee. Fifty seven year-old Jacqueline McDowell of Lewiston, Maine was driving her 2012 Nissan Versa sedan when it veered off the road into a ditch, striking a culvert. The sedan then proceeded to flip end over end- at least 8 times- before landing right side up nearly 250 feet away.
Police and fire personnel extricated McDowell from the motor vehicle, and she was then transported to the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston to receive emergency medical treatment.
Local investigators are still looking into what caused the auto crash.
