A tragic head-on collision took the life of a 4-year-old boy and injured four adults in Napa Valley last Sunday. One of the adults was local restaurateur Cindy Pawlcyn, who was driving in a Lexus with her husband. The cause of the crash was not initially clear.
The deadly accident occurred last Sunday afternoon on Highway 12/121 near the Domaine Carneros winery. The vehicles collided almost perfectly head-on, destroying the front end of both vehicles. The 4-year-old boy riding in the Chevrolet was transported by helicopter to the local hospital for treatment. Sadly, he died of her injuries. The boy’s mother was transported to the same hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet and Mr. and Mrs. Pawlcyn were also treated for their injuries.
Police are still unsure what triggered the devastating accident. There was no indication of alcohol or drugs on either of the drivers, and according to witnesses both drivers were traveling at or near the speed limit.
