\"Boston,<\/a>Aaron Deveau, 17 years old at the time, was distracted while texting and driving.\u00a0 As a result, his car drifted across the center line on River Street in Haverville, MA<\/a>, and struck the vehicle of Donald Bowley, 55, head-on<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Bowley died as a result of car accident<\/a>-related injuries<\/a> on March 10, 2012, about one month after the car accident occurred.<\/p>\n

A jury is now being selected at the Havervill, MA<\/a> District Court, overseen by Judge Stephen Abany.\u00a0 Deveau is the first person to be prosecuted for motor vehicle homicide under a new state law that makes it a crime to drive and text at the same time.\u00a0 Deveau has pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n
