John Olver says he was not hurt in a single-auto accident<\/a>\u00a0off Route 9 in Williamsburg, MA Tuesday morning.<\/strong> Olver, a Massachusetts Democrat, says he was driving alone to a meeting in Pittsfield, MA when his automobile went over an embankment on Route 9 and into a small stream.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Olver indicated that he planned on making a legal pass of another car in a passing zone but changed his mind because of an oncoming vehicle, causing him to lose control of his car on the slippery road. The 75 year-old United States Congressman was met by local firefighters in response to the car accident<\/a>, but signed a release refusing medical treatment.<\/strong><\/p>\n
