According to local authorities, Kriger was vacationing in Mexico when a van that he was riding in swerved off the road in order to avoid hitting another car<\/strong>. As a result of the accident, Kriger suffered a number of broken bones<\/a>,<\/strong> including broken ribs, a broken pelvis and a broken collar bone. Kriger told authorities that his vacation in Mexico was for an annual paragliding event that he attends every year with other paragliding pilots.<\/p>\n

Kriger was treated at a medical center near the scene of the car accident<\/a> before he was taken to a hospital in Mexico City, where he was further treated for eight days. Kriger was later transported to the Baystate Medical Center for additional treatment.<\/p>\n
