Woman Dies After Car Plunges Over Bridge in Lowell.

Police report that Colleen Luther, a Massachusetts resident, was involved in a fatal car crash when she lost control of her car while crossing the Lawrence Street Bridge in Lowell, MA. As a result of the tragic car accident, she crashed her car through a guardrail and then plunged into the Concord River in Lowell on the morning of November 12.

Despite local police and fire officials diving into the cold water in an attempt to rescue her after the motor vehicle accident, poor visibility and cold temperatures slowed their efforts.  Luther was later located and pulled from the water. But she was later pronounced dead after being taken to the Lowell Memorial Hospital emergency room.

Luther was the only individual in the car at the time of the auto accident. The cause of the car crash is still under investigation.
