The family of Dr. Malcolm Lloyd has filed a wrongful death lawsuit just two weeks after he was killed in a tragic speeding and drunken driving accident. According to the lawsuit, 53-year-old driver Andres Toro drove his Lamborghini at an excessive rate of speed into the back of an SUV on the MacArthur Causeway in Miami, killing his passenger and placing the driver of the SUV in critical condition.
According to the accident report, Toro was attempting to change lanes in his Lamborghini while approaching a red light and traveling at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. He struck an SUV carrying 46-year-old Raul Alfonzo. There was no evidence that Toro made any attempt to brake before causing the deadly crash. His Lamborghini flew more than 100 yards in the air. His passenger, Dr. Malcolm Lloyd was killed in the crash.
Toro’s blood alcohol level was recorded at 0.173, more than twice the legal limit. In addition to facing the civil lawsuit, Toro is facing more than 21 years in prison if convicted of vehicular homicide, DUI manslaughter and DUI with serious bodily injury.
