A man in Danbury, Connecticut was arrested and charged with drunk driving early Monday morning of last week.
Police say that Erlon Goncalves was driving drunk when he crashed into a light pole at the intersection of Stevens Street and New Street at around 12:30 a.m. on Monday. Goncalves then fled the scene on foot, but was spotted by an ambulance that had been summoned to the crash scene.
The ambulance driver saw Goncalves running down Kennedy Avenue and proceeded to chase him down and corner him.
In addition to the drunk driving charge, Goncalves was also charged with evading responsibility, operating an unregistered vehicle, driving while his license was suspended and failure to carry insurance on his motor vehicle.
